Is there a way to cure morning stiffness without medicine?

  1. Rameen,
Thanks for posting your question in our Q&A. Morning stiffness is very common and while I cannot offer treatment advice via the internet- (for your safety) this article may be helpful in finding ways to combat morning stiffness without medications: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living/6-ways-to-combat-morning-stiffness-tips-from-the-ra-community/ Additionally this article: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living/stiffness-in-the-mornings/ I hope you find them helpful and reach out and let us know how you are doing. Warmly, Lauren (RheumatoidArthritis.net Team)

    1. Hi Rameen,

In addition to the excellent information from Lauren, thought you might be interested in this article from one of our contributors on new research on morning stiffness: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living/new-research-on-morning-stiffness/. It points towards potentially shifting medication times, which would not necessitate any additional medications. Of course, you should speak to your doctor before making any changes to a treatment regimen. Best, Richard (RheumatoidArthritis.net Team)

      1. Thank you so much to both of you for your feedback. It was really helpful.
All the medicines help me in the start but the effects wear off later on. I was on Leflunomide and HCQ with some pain killers but now my Rheumatologist changed the meds. Right now i am on prednisone,Methotrexate and HCQ which are quite helpful. I have less morning stiffness now. The only thing that is disturbing me nowadays is extreme nausea. I hope i find something to cure it.

        1. It feels so nice to be in contact with people who are so understanding and aware of my condition. Thanks a lot for your support and care. Yeah my doctor prescribed me domperidone (motilium) and prochlorperazine (stemetil) for my nausea but i still feel nausea after having a methotrexate shot every week. I asked this question because i thought that may be some one tried something other than their meds that can help to reduce or cope with the RA symptoms. I am getting a lot of useful information here. I will keep in contact.

        2. I'm glad that the new meds are helping and sorry about nausea. I take a stomach pill (can't recall name) I'll try and post later. I'd had hip surgery and that was given to me and I've spoken to my Rheumo about and he continues to do the refills.
I'm taking prednisone, methotrexate (once a week) and Enbrel injection (once a week) along with Folic acid, 1000 mgs of Tylenol, BP med and Iron pill. I feel like a maraca sometimes and days..lol
Mention it to your Rheumo 😀
Wishing you a good day today and better day tomorrow.
