How can I reduce tingling and numbness in hands?

I often wake up with my hands tingling and numb.. and then spend alot of the next day with odd feeling hands.. is this something others deal with? Any suggestions to reduce its occurrence? Thanks 😀

Still waiting to see a Rheum for a diagnosis (of what yet i am not sure, although the consensus seems RA)

Sorry you are dealing with this hand numbness and tingling. Sounds like you are planning to go in, but we always recommend speaking with your doctor whenever you have any new, changing or concerning symptoms. 1. Hi kateshandshurt. First, let me echo Kelly's thoughts on notifying your doctor any time you present with new symptoms. Unfortunately neuropathy and nerve symptoms do occur with RA. This article from our editorial team takes a closer look at nerve symptoms: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/symptoms/nerve-symptoms/. Wishing you the best. Richard (RheumatoidArthritis.net Team)

      1. Thanks so much for your response! I unfortunately don't have a family doctor at the moment (province wide shortage) so no one to follow ongoing issues, but i try to keep track in a journal!

      2. Thanks from me too..

    2. I have also these symptoms. I generally use hot water on my hand and do some exercise to get normal.

      1. My rheumatologist ordered testing to check for pinched ulner nerve an ENG I think. It was like having a tazer shocking my arms one at a time. Results revealed neuropathy due to RA. My priimary doc started me on Gabapentin that makes my extremities feel better.
