Don't know yet

I am waiting for a referral to a rheumatologist. I was tested several years ago and told the test was negative. I was relieved at the time, but not so sure now. Have the large middle finger joints and have had surgery to remove very large nodule on one finger. Nodule on another finger disappeared on it's own after months. My real issue now is my feet. I have had bunions and hammertoes on both feet for quite a few years. Never dealt with them. However, 1 1/2 years ago I had a complete rupture of the main ankle dorsiflexion tendon in my left foot. I have since learned that RA can affect tendons. It was surgically repaired, but has left my ankle very weak. It also drastically changed the entire shape of my foot. Big toe is turned and gone underneath second toe. Hammertoes are much worse also. I have spent almost $1000 in the last year trying to find shoes I can tolerate. I've had to quit working at age 60. Can no longer tolerate the 8 hours of standing and walking my job required. I guess it's time to find out if this is ra or osteo.
