Fighting the Fight

My story begins in 1994,  I was 16 years old and I had just started a new school.  My parents we’re very eager to find out what was wrong with me.  I started with on finger that get really swollen and painful, then fevers out of nowhere. Finally after so many tests,they diagnosis Lupus, and JRA. I was home school the last year of high school, but I was very behind on ly studies.  All through my teens and early twenties I struggled finding a treatment that would work for me,I had my first child at 22 a year later I had my first hip replacement,

    Hi Irma – Thank you so much for taking the time to share your story. I can’t imagine how difficult it must have been to grow up with such pain, and as a mother with RA myself I understand the additional challenges that arthritis places on motherhood.
