Just wondering

So… like the story states, I’m just wondering. I am in a position where it takes me 3+ hours to get to my Rheumatologist and back. So due to my work schedule I have chosen to stop treatment. I was on methotrexate and prednisone but have weaned off both. Does anyone have an idea what I may have to endure until I can recruit a closer doctor?

    Dear Liza,
Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out to us about your experiences with RA. I am sorry that your rheumatologist is so far away – that must make it incredibly hard to commit to a treatment plan. We strongly recommend that you contact your doctor before changing or stopping any treatment plan. Perhaps s/he can get you in touch with another provider who is closer to you. Many doctors may also be willing to discuss treatment over the phone given your situation. This RA directory may be helpful in finding a closer provider: https://www.rheumatology.org/Directory/Geographic_Membership_Directory/.
We are here for you always!
    Jillian (RA.net Team)
