Kicking RA's butt!

Hello everyone, my name is Mindy. I am 20 years old from Idaho and i was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis at age 3. I have been living with this disease my entire life and I can't remember what being healthy feels like. It started in just my left knee and stayed there until about age 15. It then spread to both ankles, both wrists, my other knee, and my jaw. It is also beginning to affect other parts of my body including my hips and shoulders. Along with this disease I have sever bunions on both feet that cause me major pain all the time. I work full time in a retail store where I am on my feet for 8-10 hours a day. As I'm sure you can all imagine, I experience a lot of pain from my job. I am currently on Enbrel trying to get my disease under control. I have tried naproxen, arava, celebrex, methotrexate, turmeric, and many others which all either weren't effective or the side effects were so bad I almost failed out of high school from being so sick. I was so excited when I found enbrel because it is the first thing that has worked for me in a very long time. I will probably be switching to Humira soon because my inflammation levels will not return to normal levels even though I'm feeling much better. The worst parts of this disease, for me, are the lack of knowledge from non-patients and ignorance about the disease.
