My Journey with RA

53 yr old female diagnosed yrs ago with nodules 15 surgeries and a long list of other treatments. Watched my mom die of complications from ra. I currently take plaueqinil, Arava, zeljanz, prednisone and infusions with little results. It’s overwhelming at this point. I’m sure everyone goes thru these times. I also believe it’s a quality of life question at this point in my life. Most Drs all say they can help have been to more Drs than I could ever imagine, same song and dance. The world is worried about building a wall and I’m just worried about tomorrow. Have a nice day

I think a difficult part of this disease is looking at myself in mirror this is not me this is not my body. I seem frial, pale and is quite frightening.

Hi feelbetter1. Sorry to hear you have been struggling. I noticed in your list of medications that you mentioned an infusion. Is this a biologic? I ask because you also listed Xeljanz. For your protection , we cannot give medical advice over the internet. However, as noted in this article Xeljanz is contraindicated with biologics: https://www.verywellhealth.com/xeljanz-tofacitinib-what-you-need-to-know-189667. It states “Xeljanz should not be used with biologic drugs or powerful immunosuppressants, such as Imuran (azathioprine) or cyclosporine.” Your doctor should be able to provide more information or answer any questions you may have. Wishing you the best. Richard (RheumatoidArthritis.net Team)
