Treatment

Infusions

  • By annD

I am new to infusions. I began August 9th with Simponi Aria. I have had the very first infusion and I was supposed to have the 2nd part of my loading dose on August 30th. I have now been bumped to September 12th due to the Hurricane here in Texas and I am wondering if this will cause any issues/complications with my loading dose.
I have been on Methotrexate since 1998 and started Humira in 2002 i believe it was.
I have tried both Humira and Enbrel and not responding to either so the infusions were started.
I am frustrated, flaring and fatigued

    annD,

Thanks for reaching out and I hope you are safe after the Hurricane in Texas. While I hope others in the community reach out with personal experineces. I encourage you to speak to your Rheumatologist about your current treatment plan, (If you haven’t already done so). We hope he/she will be able to help to understand if you will experience any side effects or symptoms if you have to wait another 2 weeks.
In the meantime: Here is an aticle that may be helpful: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/treatment/biologics-treatment-options-for-ra/

We are sorry you are feeling frustrated, and dealing with a flare while fatigued. (UGH!) Know you are not alone and we are here for you.

    Warmly, Lauren (RheumatoidArthritis.net Team)
