Rheumatologist Finally Concurs!

This past Wednesday after much pain and misunderstanding plus misdiagnoses I was told, "we've been treating you for gout and apparently we've been treating you for the wrong thing."
The doctor explained men usually suffered gout not women, and from this summation it is most definitely RA.
I'd explained to the medical staff the excruciating pain in my right foot and after one week of this pain, I'd noticed the bones in that foot had spread leaving the foot misshaped.
I have constant pain in my knees both at the same time, also both ankles are painful too.
I've am now on a Plaquenil regimen and 50,000 units of vitamin D once a week. This has been some journey.

  1. It feels good to finally have a clear diagnosis! Even though you hate having the disease, somehow it helps knowing what it is and that a plan of treatment can be applied. Here's hoping that the Plaquenil works. It will continue to be a journey for the rest of your life.

    1. Thank you for your reply.

      1. So glad to hear you were finally able to get an accurate diagnosis, Jennifer! I truly hope that the Plaquenil helps you feel better! Best of luck to you!
