Suffering Tennis Elbow even through not a Tennis Player. What should I do now?

I'm a officer and usually work for 8 hours each day, mostly using computer since my job is coding. According to my internet research, tennis elbow can be caused by repetitive motions, so i suppose that i am suffered this pain because of using computer too much. Please advide me what should i suppose to do now? My friend recommended me to use tennis elbow brace, he said that by using elbow brace, it can help resting my muscles and tendons, hence, relieve symptoms of tennis elbow. Especially, he strongly recommend this brand: https://www.amazon.com/Tennis-Elbow-2-Count-Compression-Adjustable/dp/B0725HF8CX/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&sr=8-1&keywords=tennis%20elbow%20brace , since he used it and it is really helpful. Anyone using this brace before?

I also do some research for those who has no idea what Tennis Elbow Pain is. Below is the result, please add information to my research based on your knowledge regarding this pain, i'm now so stressful about it:

I google "Tennis Elbow Pain" and it results like this right on the first line: "Tennis elbow is a condition caused by inflammation of the tendons on the outer bony prominence (lateral epicondyle) of the elbow. Certain repetitive movements of the wrist can cause this condition. Tennis elbow can occur in anyone who strains the tendons of the forearm and is not limited to tennis players."

I also did some other research and knew this interesting fact: "According to Cleverland Clinic, as many as 10 million Americans may suffer from tennis elbow. The pain can be caused by repetitive tasks using the hand, wrist and arm."

  1. Hi Cristian,

Thanks so much for reaching out with your question and information. Rheumatoid arthritis can impact tendons as well as joints, so people with RA can be more prone to conditions such as "tennis elbow." I'm not certain whether you have RA, but I share that as many people in this online community do have RA.

I have not used that particular brace, but I have used braces on occasion for my elbows and have found them to be helpful. Not only do they provide some support to the aggravated area, but they also bring extra awareness to how I move.
When a joint/area is causing a lot of pain, I'm frequently amazed at how often I use that body part in ways I don't even think about when I'm not in pain. The brace makes me pre-think the best way to move to accomplish a task while supporting my body.

    Thanks again for your post.

Wishing you all the best for pain relief,
    Tamara
