Treatments other than infusion?

My girlfriend has had RA for the last 3 years and is currently taking an infusion once a month to help, the only problem is that it makes her sick so she ends up not being able to take it quiet a lot.

She’s very upset because she thinks she’s going to have to find another medication but is concerned that it’s going to take a while to find another one that works. I was wondering what medicines you guys think work the best and have the easiest side effects to deal with

  1. It is trial and error for everyone because everybody's RA responds differently. I have been on about 5 different meds. The constant gold standard seems to be injectable methotrexate. Has she tried that yet or is it contraindicated for her? A lot of times your insurance company dictates what meds are tried and in which order. You have to fail at the cheaper ones before you can move on. It is often a slow and bumpy road.

The best thing you can do is be there for her. I know it is hard to see her go through this and not be able to solve the problem. Just knowing you are there and believe what she is going through is real is a huge thing... more than you will ever know.
