Bad pains after pacemaker fitted

Pacemaker fitted in March 2023 started my rheumatoid arthritis off wrists hands fingers and right shoulder very bad pains has anyone else experienced this

  1. I have an implantable defibrillator (ICD). I had to get it after my shoulder was replaced and that night in the hospital I had a heart attack. It gives me afib now from time to time and they say that’s dangerous maybe, so just in case, and so on and so on. I’m not quite sure if it ever gave me a flare per se, but I do know that any time I get a major procedure done or there is any kind of body changes, my RA does NOT like it. It can react in a number of ways but usually I just won’t feel well for a few days or weeks. It is infuriating and frustrating, for sure, but as my mom tells me when I get down - “this too shall pass.” Please let us know if there’s anything we can do to help from here and hopefully today is a lower pain day. Keep on keepin’ on, DPM

    1. I hate to hear you’re experiencing pain after having your pacemaker implanted. Have you brought this concern up with your doctor? Are you also taking any medications that could be contributing to your pain? I really hope others are able to chime in and offer their experience and things turn around for you soon. But if you haven’t talked with your doctor I highly encourage you to do so as everyone’s experience will vary. Either way, we’re here to help the best way we can. Best wishes, Latoya (Team Member)
