Dazed and Confused

Hello all a little over a month ago I went to the doctor because I was extremely fatigued and I had mild joint pain in my fingers, wrists, and ankles. I assumed that as a 38 year-old woman I was having a female problem of sorts(low iron, B-12, estrogen)but my doctor didn't think so. He mentioned Lupus and RA. I have personal and family history with Hashimoto's disease, so I had a ton of blood work done and all my levels were good, including my RA factor. My joint pain hasn't gone away and I am in pain all the time. My doctor still referred my to a rheumatologist and my appointment is in two weeks. Until the words passed out of my doctors lips I knew very little about this disease and I still don't know the impact it will have on my life at this point. I guess I'm looking for support and information. I don't even know what kind of information. I have read all the clinical info online and it doesn't help. Thanks

  1. Hi Klynn, sorry you're going through this. It's not uncommon for diagnosis to be fuzzy and take time. A rheumatologist should be able to get to the bottom of what's going in. In the meantime, you can read more about diagnosis at this link - https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/diagnosis/. I encourage you to check out our Facebook page to connect with others https://www.facebook.com/RheumatoidArthritisDotNet. Reading personal stories helps. Hang in there and keep us posted.
