Gentle exercises, does anyone have a routine ?

Recently diagnosed with RA and I feel like it has weakened me and my muscles aren't supporting my normal positions. Has routine gentle exercises helped anyone. Love, elirose

  1. Hi - the exercise question is a little for everyone. One of our advocates Kelly wrote about her pandemic exercise routine (https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living/home-exercise-routine) that may be helpful. I know you are recently diagnosed. 1. RHall,
That information from Kelly was so uplifting. Big help. Anything to make my body feel lighter and free. Thanks Love, elirose

      1. Hi
Thanks so much for reaching out with your question. Yes, Yes, Yes routine gentle exercises are extremely important for keeping up with the range of motion of your joints. I have lived with RA for over 15 years. I was diagnosed in my twenties. I am also an Occupational Therapist. Keeping up gentle motion is so important, even on those days when you don't feel yourself. Also, know that things are opening up more, you might want to look into swimming. I have provided a link below to an article/and two part video from one of our team members "Nan" on the benefits of swimming. I hope you find it helpful.
