Currently I'm on new med Xeljanz. Would like to take Humira to help with pain.

lillianmcnab1, this is a great question and while I do hope other chime in to talk about their own experience with Humira, please keep in mind that different treatments work differently for everyone.
While I cannot offer you treatment advice via the internet (for your safety) Here is an article that may be helpful: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/treatment/humira-side-effects-safety-profile-review/ Have you talked with your Dr about this treatment option helping your RA?
Additionally, I thought you might be interested in this article on community ideas for managing pain, https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living/community-ideas-managing-pain/. Thanks so much for reaching out and best of luck. Warmly, Lauren (RheumatoidArthritis.net Team)

Hi lillianmcnab1. I want to make sure I understand your question. Are you asking about switching biologic treatments from Xeljanz to Humira or are you asking if you can add Humira to your treatment regimen for pain. While, as Lauren said, we cannot give advice over the internet on which treatment to pursue, I can tell you that taking two biologics is contraindicated.
If you are thinking of switch medications, this is truly a personal decision for a patient, in consultation with their medical team. This article from one of our contributors offers some thoughts on how to know when it is time to switch: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living/when-is-it-time-for-a-new-treatment-plan/. Wishing you the best. Richard (RheumatoidArthritis.net Team)
