Lungs

Good evening,
I recently took a CT of my chest , after talking with my primary doctor telling him my symptoms for the last couple weeks. He ordered it. , stated that due to my RA it might be attacking my lungs . Due to see pulmonary doctor next week.

  1. I have the same problem. When I had a flare up my lungs were damaged so I have something they call interstitial lung disease. I am being treated by my rheumatologist and a pulmonologist together, with some strong immune suppressing drugs. They have me take a pulmonary function test every 6 months and a CT scan every year. So far it has stabilized but I need supplemental oxygen when I exercise.

    1. Thanks for sharing -- I am sorry that you have ILD. Please know you aren't alone there. One of our RA Health Leaders also wrote about her issue with interstitial lung disease (https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living/interstitial-lung-disease) - this may be helpful perspective as well. Warmly, - Reggie, team member
