Medical Specialist - Collecting Ologist

In my family of myself and 5 siblings we all have medical issues, some more serious then others but we all have found a way to deal with ourselves and issues with one another by giving a breakdown or informing one another when we have collected a new Specialist. We call it "Collecting Ologist". We only count those that specialize in their given fields.

I thought if we all played this game it would show ourselves and others just how much we are the same and/or how much we differ while still having RA and it's "tag a longs" in common. Let each and everyone of us know we are not alone.

Okay the rules are: No primary doctors included. All those you write down must specialize in their field. You must be have seen these "ologist" at least once to list them. If you have an appointment but not have seen that doctor yet, please do not list. The one the most will not win anything except for admiration from the rest of us! LOL

I will go first:
Rheumatologist, Cardiologist, Gastrologist, Vascular Surgeon, Physical Therapist, Pulmonologist, Psychologist, Radiologist, Respiratory Therapist, Ophthalmologist and Allergist. 11 total. I think that is all of them

Hope other will join me for a little fun and wow's.

  1. Hi dltld, so funny to make a listing of ologist and I do smile at it. wishing your family well love, elirose

    1. Hi . Before I mention this to my wife, Kelly, I need a quick point of clarification. Do surgical specialist within the same field count as one or more? For example: Kelly had a knee replacement revision done by knee and hip specialist, who then sent her to a shoulder specialist for her recent shoulder replacement. That said, they are both orthopedic surgeons - so one or two 😀 ? Thanks for posting this. Best, Richard (RheumatoidArthritis.net Team)

      1. well I would say, if they have different names (given or surnames) they count as individuals of course. example with out knowing of course 4 orthopedic surgeons. or if there was 4 surgeries with 2 different doctors, then 2 surgeons. Thanks for checking in!

    2. This is awesome, ! I love that you and your siblings do this together. I hope lots of people participate. Best wishes! - Lori (Team Member)

      1. At one point I had enough docs to form a soccer team! Now, though, I'm down to a rheumatologist, cardiologist, anesthesiologist, and sugeons that don't end in -ologist! 😀 Keep on keepin' on, DPM
