Does anyone have muscle twitching and perceived weakness?

I started having muscle twitches last September. I have had two EMGs in and CT’s both were negative. The muscle twitching feels like little zappers in my legs and then I get more of a twitching in my biceps in my shoulders in my stomach pretty much everywhere.

And I know if you go to Dr. Google first thing that comes up is ALS. So I’m so scared. Any info or response is greatly appreciated 🙏

  1. Hi there . We're sorry to hear that you've been experiencing these muscle twitches, they sound extremely uncomfortable. Have you discussed this with your Rheumatologist? Muscle twitches may also be a side effect of medications you're on. This thread from our site, where different members discuss muscle twitching, might be helpful to look through: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/q-and-a/twitching-muscles/ We hope you're able to find some helpful answers and relief in the near future. 1. Hey ! Thanks for reaching out. I am so sorry you are going through this. I can imagine this is extremely frustrating. Have you spoken to your rheumatologist about physical therapy? It may be a good option to help build up your strength. The therapist can help you find exercises that don't exacerbate your RA symptoms but help you strengthen and gain some mobility in your legs and shoulders.

Here is an article on the benefits of PT if you are interested: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/treatment/exercise-and-rehabilitation/

How are you since you last posted? ~Monica
