Music as Therapy for RA

Hello fellow RA'yers! I was diagnosed with RA about 5 years ago; in addition to Plaquenil, Prednisone, Folic Acid, Methotrexate and Humira, I use music to lift my mood when RA has me down. I am wondering if anyone has used music to lift their spirits. More specifically, I would like to know what instruments you play, etc. I'm well enough now to play my piano, which I had to stop playing until I found the right meds. I would love to know if any RA'yers have used music as therapy. Hope everyone has a lovely and pain-free day!

  1. I think many likely do. Regrettably, I can not play an instrument. But I do love my music. Maybe you can relate to an item I wrote several months ago. Check it out:

    1. Music is such great therapy, . I am glad you are able to play your piano again. I hope you hear from others in the community. I know we have some members who play instruments and I am sure we have plenty of others who find certain types of music uplifting when they are feeling down or in need of motivation. Wishing you the best! - Lori (Team Member)

      1. Hi . I know music has played a big role in the lives of many of our contributors and glad to hear it makes a positive difference for you. I want to share with you this link to a search of our archive which will bring up several of their stories on the difference music has made in their lives with RA: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/search?s=music.
