Nodules?

Hello,

I've been going through a lot of health related problems lately. It started with chest pains, and after a diet change, exercise adjustments I ended up hurting myself more and have been diagnosed with arthritis in my knees due to joint space narrowing.

Although this is an RA site I've been doing a lot of research and keep thinking and whether anxiety of everything that's happened with me in the past 2 months I'm not sure of what to think.

With my current knee pains I was given prednisone and took that and felt like while I was on it other joints ached which is weird because I never felt pain there before either. Yet with a lot of my changes in exercise I've been trying to focus on doing low impact exercises and as for hands I've started to use a gripper.

This morning although no pain, I noticed these red dots on my knuckles and not on all just just on a few. They don't hurt or anything but could these be nodules from RA?

I took a picture of both hands but the post only allows for one. I just don't know what to think anymore. I've been struggling to sleep in part due to anxiety. I also read that testing for RA is hit or miss and takes a lot to determine the disease or not.

I'm a male, 32 years old and just started to have health problem after health problem since November of last year.

  1. It's hard to say without being properly seen by a rheumatologist. You could consult with your primary care doctor if you're able to help gauge what it could be, and they usually then can refer you for more testing at a specialist. Nodules and inflammation can occur in the fingers from RA but it can also be many more things not associated. We aren't able to give medical advice since we aren't doctors so my best advice is to seek medical attention. I hope that helps some and you find relief/answers soon. -Effie, team member
