Not sure how to handle this situation

Hey everybody my name is Rhoda and I'm not sure how to handle a certain situation with a coworker. So, I have RA, was diagnosed earlier this year and started the meds less than 3 months ago. Before my diagnosis, it seemed my symptoms were pretty minimal and seldom flared up. After my diagnosis, it seemed that my symptoms became abundant, almost non stop flare ups and calling off from work. Anyway, after the first few times of calling out due to flare ups, a coworker started giving me an attitude and had even told another coworker that they don't believe I have RA. I was really surprised at this and don't know how to deal with it. I don't want to make waves, and feel like if I confront this person, it will turn into a much bigger issue.
Just looking for feedback on this, because I'm at a loss. Thanks.

  1. I wish you didn't have to deal with such rudeness and ignorance, . That is harassment, no doubt. I know you don't want to make waves, but you do have a legal right to be comfortable in the workplace. It might not be helpful to confront her directly. I would suggest going to your supervisor or someone in HR and expressing your concerns. Together, you might be able to come up with a way to handle the situation. Please keep in mind that what she is doing is wrong. You have done nothing wrong and you shouldn't have to suffer silently. You don't deserve that kind of treatment. Thinking of you and sending lots of gentle hugs your way. - Lori (Team Member)

    1. I thought it was harassment, but really wasn't sure. Thanks for the feedback! I will be notifying my supervisor about this the next time I see them.
