Hi . First, I want to note that each case is individualistic and different. The research on low-dose prednisone kind of mirrors this with some saying that, in the long-term it can be detrimental and other research finding it o.k., with some rheumatologists believing it is under-utilized. I can tell you that my wife, Kelly Mack (a contributor here), has been on 5mg of daily prednisone for years with no known major negative effects. Again, this is one person and others may have different experiences.
