Rf blood tests

What are the normal levels for rf factors...I just had my bloodwork done and I don't understand the results

  1. It depends on the lab. serum values <10 IU/uL is negative. So, if your values are less than 10 that would be considered “normal”. >12.5 IU/mL is positive. Those values are for the lab I work in. RF is present 70-90% of RA patients. If RF is positive and the patient has arthritis in 3 or more joints then the patient is said to have RA. Especially with a corresponding positive CCP test. I hope this helps!

    1. Thanks for replying, my ccp was 3 units, my rf iga is 5 units, rf iGg is 6 units, and igm is 6 units...I don't know if that's good or bad..waiting to hear from ortho doc...

      1. , gave you some great information. Here's some information on reading your blood work results -- https://www.hss.edu/conditions_understanding-rheumatoid-arthritis-lab-tests-results.asp. I know for those of us who don't work in the medical field, it can be hard to decipher all the numbers and letters they list in these test results!

Your doctor will be the best suited to discussing your results with you and I hope he/she calls you back very soon!

      2. Yeah, just wait for your doctor I don’t know the ranges of the lab you used so I don’t want to steer you wrong.
