Rituxan

Doc is suggesting starting RITUXAN infusions. I will do it, if the insurance company agrees. Kind of sad that non-medical people, at insurance companies, can determine the course of treatment…right.

Has anyone been on RITUXAN? If so, any comments or cautions?

  1. Thanks for reaching out. I hope others in our community chime in and share their experience on Rituxan with you. In addition to speaking with your doctor about any questions, these articles may be helpful: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/treatment/rituxan-reviews-how-well-does-it-work and https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living/rituxan-our-other-caregiver. 1. Thamk you. Your comments are helpful as are the articles.

  2. I use Rituxan and have used it for seven years. I really like it. I found it made my life so much better. I hope you have it approved and that it works well for you.

    1. Good info, thank you!

      1. I recently started Ruxience, a Rituxan bio-similar. It’s early, but I believe it is helping. Couple of notes for you: 1. My insurance company did not require pre-authorization for Ruxience. They declined Rituxan. Two rheumatologists and a transplant doc (they also use Rituxan) all said Ruxience is a great alternative. 2. Because Rituxan and Ruxience affect your ability to make antibodies, discuss which immunizations you may need prior to starting either med. Also see if your doc recommends Evusheld (prevents serious CoVid) for you. Best Wishes to you! Jo
