Hi clee. As Erin noted, stem cell research for RA is really in the early stages, but is showing promise. Here is one example of work in this area from the European Union detailing some of the research they are funding, noting "EU-funded researchers have developed a new potential treatment for rheumatoid arthritis, based on adult stem cells from body fat, or adipose tissue. The results of initial clinical trials are encouraging, and with a large number of patients all over the world, the benefits could be staggering:" https://ec.europa.eu/programmes/horizon2020/en/news/new-stem-cell-based-treatment-rheumatoid-arthritis. Hopefully research such as this will advance and the RA community will reap the benefits. It is encouraging to know research is being done and advancing. Best, Richard (RheumatoidArthritis.net Team)
