Switching to a Biosimilar

With recent conversations with my rheumy, I have been switched from Humira to Hyrimoz. I'm curious if anyone else has had this conversation with their rheumy in switching to a biosimilar and what you have noticed? Did you also have any insurance troubles with them covering the biosimilar?

  1. Yes, I am on Hadlima. I think it works better than Humira. No insurance issues. I was the third person Optum Speciality had on it! The copay assistance is only 2k or one month. I take it weekly. That is not good because my deductible is 5k.

    1. thanks so much for sharing your experience with David! How great that you're getting such good results from the Hadlima. Unfortunately, cost of medication can be a real barrier for a lot of people getting the relief they need. I wish that the copay assistance could be more for you so that it wasn't such a big financial burden. I am sharing a link to some information on various types of prescription assistance. I'm not sure if any of them would be feasible for you (or would make the medication any less expensive), but I wanted to share the information, just in case. https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/resources-cost Wishing you a gentle day. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)
