Anyone with RA here had a total knee replacement?
If so, how was it short term and long term?
I had my knee replaced one month ago. The surgeon, to his credit, said it would be the worst pain I have ever had for at least two weeks. It was! Tremendous swelling and bruising from the ankle to the groin.
I have heard RA patients typically have good long term outcomes, but I wonder if short term we swell more than a typical patient. It would make sense as our bodies are already in hyper defensive mode. Please let me know your experiences.

I had waited a year to get the surgery and I think even so that RA made it more difficult. Happily, I can still do most of the things I want to do.
