Vagus nerve stimulation has been on the radar as a potential treatment for RA for a number of years (our Health Leader Andrew wrote about it here in 2015: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/blog/vagus-nerve-stimulation-possibilities-and-limitations). A new clinical trial has found that an implantable vagus nerve stimulation device effectively treats moderate to severe RA cases. Study patients previously failed at least on biologic or targeted DMARD (see: https://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/vagus-nerve-stimulation-proves-effective-refractory-2024a1000l8n).
Has anyone tried vagus nerve stimulation for their RA? We'd love to hear about your experience.
