How can I handle agitated joints?

If my lower back and my hip joints hurt when I walk, should I continue or stop my walking plan?

  1. Sorry you are having these hip difficulties MareV. For your protection, we cannot give medical advice over the internet. Any new symptoms should be brought to the attention of your doctor. This article from our editorial team looks at RA and hip issues: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/symptoms/hip-swelling-and-stiffness/. Also, in this article one of our contributors writes about her hip issues: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living/the-other-hip/. Hopefully some others offer their experiences. Hope you find some relief soon. Best, Richard (RheumatoidArthritis.net Team)

    1. It's so tough to have symptoms in those areas. Low back, SI, hip and trochanteric area can flare up together in a way that it makes it hard to know where it all started! And what hurts or helps. So many of us are with you on the more or less activity questions. Good luck!
