Carrying On with RA

I'm a 64 year old male that was diagnosed 15 years ago with RA. I'm a self employed as a field mechanic, and my hobbies used to include bowling, softball, and motorcycle riding. Now, maybe If I'm not completely worn down from working, I might take a bike for a short ride.

The challenges and silver linings

My meds include prednisone and Enbrel when I can get it. Just this year I lost half of the support for Enbrel. I guess it's because of this terrible economy. It's the fatigue that's the worst for me, and I bleed if rub up against something.

I have the best wife I think is possible. We've been married for 45 years. She's my friend and understanding when I'm too tired. My mother had RA also and was diagnosed at 30. My sister was diagnosed with lupus at around the of 34.

What I want everyone with RA to know

I hope everyone with this disease is getting the treatment that helps them live the best life they can and don't get discouraged and feel like giving up. Find the right doctor and treatment. What works for some might not work for others. If you read this, try and have a great day!
