"You Look Great"

I was diagnosed at age 13, I'm 63 now. I've been through a lot. It's okay because I've come to terms with my illness.

The misunderstanding that comes with an RA diagnosis

Anyway I've always tried to look my best but what really gets me is when someone finds out I have RA the first thing they say is, "Well you look great." They just don't know anything about the disease. So they assume you're great.

People don't seem to understand

There have been friends I've tried to educate but they just don't seem to understand how horrible this disease is. I think there are people that only think it's an old people illness. I've even been told you can't possibly, you're not old enough. It's been trying but I'm hoping that more education will be available and folks can understand.
