New to the community

Hi all, after weeks of unexplainable swelling in my wrist, and seeing many different doctors and tests, I was diagnosed with seronegative RA in July.

I am currently on MX, which has helped with the swelling a little, but I am still having flareups.

Adjusting to my diagnosis

Four months into the diagnosis, I have experienced great days but terrible lows as well. Most days, I try to keep busy with a full-time job (which has been hard with fatigue) and low impact exercises. I am still new to discovering different ways to cope with pain, and meeting people who have experience with learning to manage this chronic illness.

Aiming for remission

My goal is to get into remission as soon as I can, and try not to get off Mx. Starting a family as I am in my young 30s is something I have had to put on hold too this year.

I am a big believer in holistic treatment, and I’ve found that big changes in my diet like giving up gluten, dairy, red meat, alcohol has already helped with a lot of gut issues that I used to have as well.

Most of all, I am looking forward to being a part of a community who understands what I am going through - glad to meet you all!
