Not RA?

So, I have been trying to figure out why I hurt so much. I don’t do pharma drugs well. I have seen one rheumatologist that says I only have osteoarthritis. My sed rates are too low. But all my major joints are just slightly swollen. Not warm. (that I can tell) And for low grade fever, I believe I have one. But because my “normal” temp is low to start (96.7) I only register around 98.9, or so. So everyone tells me that isn’t a low grade fever. Even when they check back and see my records show that I run low. I also have fibromyalgia and all doctors want to blame my pain on that. I found a drug for fibromyalgia pain that shut most of that pain down, but did nothing for my joint pain. Unfortunately, I can’t take it. I have all kinds of growths everywhere in my joints. Fingers, toes, feet, ankles, knees and elbows. Pretty sure it’s in my neck and shoulders too. I also have DISH, which doesn’t help and has no current treatment. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for me?

    Hey @dianabianca!

Thanks for sharing your story. I am so sorry you are dealing with this right now. The diagnostic process is definitely grueling and frightening. It doesn’t help when the doctors don’t help!

We cannot give any medical advice over the internet (for your safety) but I wanted to share the Arthritis Foundation website: http://resourcefinder.arthritis.org/

The Resource Finder can help you find rheumatologists in your area. Just scroll down to “Healthcare Professional Resource Finder”.

I think it’s very important to seek a second opinion. We are our own best advocates and know when something is not right.

Please also check out the Diagnostics tab from the Menu in the top left side of our website. You can familiarize yourself with different labs and tests and ask your doctor about what is best for you moving forward.

I really hope you find a doctor/rheumatologist who is on your side so you can start feeling better. Please reach out if you have any more questions or just need to talk! ~Monica
