Wrist Surgery

  • By LisaInMinnesota

Sauve Kapandji – I have damage between the radius and ulna. It is bone on bone with bone spurs. She said it is starting to become deformed but I did not ask her to explain that. Early next month she has me scheduled for the Sauve kapandji procedure. Where they fuse the ulna to the radius with 1 or 2 screws then cut a piece of bone off the ulna below the new fusion site. Anyone go through anything remotely like this. The fusion I am fine with, it is the chunk of bone i guess freaks me out a bit… Thank you for any help… I tried googling for days, but have not found any posts from the persons point of view… I am 44, i have sero negative rheumatoid arthritis, osteo arthritis. I was treated for RA for a few years and the medications made me SO extremely sick, after the 3rd doctor I went off the medications for a few years and gave me a break from it all. Well… I have an appointment with a new local doctor next month, after the wrist surgery to start treatment for RA again. hopefully this one will have a better understanding about the medications then the last few I’ve had… 🙂 Would love to hear about any hand/wrist surgery that in any way remotely is like this please…
