burning sensation on skin

I feel light burning sensation on the skin on my hands and sometimes on my face. I am on Methotrexate for 4 months which has reduced the pain significantly. Does anyone feel the burning sensations as well and have any insights into what may cause it.

  1. I have been on mtx before and while I didn't experience those symptoms I can say that over my 30-year RA career, I have had side effects that I couldn't believe were linked to my illness, but ended up being linked. It's best to check with your rheumatologist to see what they think, and in the meantime, track everything you eat and do for a while and see if there's a correlation between that and the symptoms you are having. I have done that before and found links sometimes in things that I'm sensitive to, like for me sugar is an RA symptom trigger. Let us know if there's anything we can do to help! Keep on keepin' on, DPM

    1. Thanks. Will do.

      1. Hi . Besides the excellent information from Daniel, I want to share with you with you this article from our contributor Carla on skin issues that may occur with RA and treatments: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living/skin-in-the-game. Also, don't hesitate to speak with your doctor or a dermatologist, especially since so many other things could be the cause. Hoping you get some answers and relief soon. Best, Richard (RheumatoidArthritis.net Team)
