Caregiver Appreciation

Do you have someone in your life who has made living with RA easier? Tell us about them an let us help celebrate them during Caregiver Appreciation Month!

  1. My husband has been my everything! When I have flare ups he waits on me hand and foot. He makes sure I have my meds, I am fed, I am clean and my bedding is clean. Some days I can't get out of bed and he is always there! He takes such good care of my and I feel so blessed and loved! <3

    2. Hi . As the husband of someone with RA (my wife, Kelly Mack, is a contributor here), it is always great to hear about supportive spouses. Kelly was diagnosed with a severe case of juvenile RA at age two, 45 years ago - before modern treatments, with the damage to show for it. She has used a wheelchair since childhood and there are certainly times that I do my best to take care of her during flares. That said, she does plenty for me as well - we do our best to take care of each other. While it may be different, I have no doubt you bring much to the relationship. I thought you might be interested in this video Kelly and I made about caregiving, but even more about adapting to make the best life for us: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/video/video-caregiving. Wishing you both the best and please know that this community is here for both of you. Richard (Team Member)

    2. These responses are always so uplifting to hear, especially knowing that not everyone has this experience. We're so glad you have a doctor who makes you feel like a priority! —Latoya (Team Member)
