Covid vaccine effectiveness with methotrexate

I have recently learned that methtrexate may lessen the effectiveness of the Covid vaccine. I am fully vaccinated and thought I could go about my business like others, but now my rheumatologist says to continue masking and maintaining distance just like before.

He says there are no good tests for effectiveness, although I have read about studies with transplant patients who got a third vaccine and are now considered more protected.

Does anyone know how to get a third vaccine?

Anyone else concerned?

  1. Hello. It is a matter of much discussion in the RA community. Recently the American College of Rheumatology released suggestions for many types of common medications used for RA patients. This is the current official position paper on Rheumatology medications and the COVID-19 vaccine. This might be a good place to start.
