Fever

Hey everyone,

I have a question for you guys. Has anyone ever experienced high fevers associated with an RA flare, but only at night? The pain wakes me up at night, and when I try to get up I feel so nauseous and dizzy. Two nights ago I ran into the wall trying to go back to my room because I was so disoriented, gave myself a pretty good bump on the head. The pain in joints is also a lot more severe then anything I’ve experienced before. The symptoms pretty much resolve as soon as I lay down, but the fever persist through the night, but is always gone during the day. Has this happened to anyone? Hope this wasn’t too much, just trying to figure out if this is normal for RA or if I should do something about it..
Thank you guys!!

  1. Hi, I'm so sorry you're going through this right now. Have you reached out to your doctor about it to see what they suggest? Given what you shared, I would really reach out to them because there's things they can offer to help with the fever, flares and sleep issue because of the pain. Some people especially those with juvenile arthritis can experience fevers, though it's not uncommon when dealing with flares that are severe. Are you currently taking any medication for it? This is not really normal and are signs that the RA isn't under control. I've linked some articles about fevers and RA. Please reach out again if you have any questions and concerns, and connect with your doctor if you haven't already. -Effie, team member
