I have had RA for about 5 years and currently I am having problems standing in one spot without pain and my shoes seem to be too small. Does anyone else have this problem and what do you recommend?
Hi . I noticed that you mentioned your shoes feeling to small. Inflammation can be a cause of this, but also it is not uncommon for individuals with RA to experience fallen arches which will make the shoes too small as the foot spreads out. I know many with RA benefit from consulting with podiatrist. Anecdotally I can tell you that my wife, Kelly Mack (a contributor here) is definitely one of them. Also, I want to share with you this article from our contributor Lynn Marie on things she wishes she knew about foot health when first diagnosed: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living/mtp-joint-pain. Hoping you can get some answers and relief soon. Best, Richard (RheumatoidArthritis.net Team)

Thank you, the information you provided is very helpful. My daughter suggested that too, so I will be making that call. Lately it seems that everything hurts, feet, ankles, hips and back. I am taking Humira and my RA numbers are good but I also have Osteoarthritis. I have been too stubborn for the prednisone my doctor wants to prescribe but I might not be able to tough it out much longer.
