Best, Kelly, Rheumatoidarthritis.net Team Member , I was diagnosed with IC before RA. I was on Elmiron for a while. I doubt if they even prescribe it anymore, I just control it with diet now. I was miserable at first but very rarely have a flare now. Good luck! , I am so sorry. 🙏🏻

. You mentioned that you were diagnosed with the interstitial cystitis first. I found this study in which IC was found to be associated with the development of autoimmune diseases, including RA: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8488113/. In addition, the International Painful Bladder Foundation lists RA (and other autoimmune conditions) as an associated condition (see: https://www.painful-bladder.org/pbs-ic_ass_dis_introduction.html). @zero mine was diagnosed around 5 years ago, after suffering constant problems for years. Sadly nothing has helped and I now face bladder removal as my bladder has been completely destroyed.
