In 1961, I maybe 18 months old. After spending the day at the beach, my mom noticed I was limping. My pediatrician diagnosed me with JRA and told my mom in these cases we have to treat the parents more than the child. 🤦♀️

, what a thing to tell a parent with a child just diagnosed with JRA. Sometimes the words out of doctors' mouths surprise me (even still).

They have written quite a bit about their experiences growing up with JRA and the various ways it has impacted them (and treatment has changed).
