Massage chair

Does anyone have experience with using a massage chair to alleviate pain?

  1. That's a great question, . I hope some of our community members can chime in here. In the meantime, we did have a similar question a couple years ago with a few responses. I'll link it here for you, https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/forums/message. I know that some of our community members find massage helpful, although I can't speak specifically to massage from a massage chair instead of going to get a professional massage. I hope you can get some helpful feedback! Wishing you a gentle day. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)

    1. For me the massage therapy is irreplaceable, it is a life changer for me and I do it weekly. I suffer from Lupus, Fibromyalgia and under watch for arthritis (don't remember which type). I also use a hydromassage chair the rest of the week that I can make it to the gym. Some chiropractors have a simpler version at their offices too. At the gym is 10 mins only, but I go to the front desk and ask for another round and usually (if nobody is waiting) can get it up to 1/2 hr. of those. Then, I do the cryo chair (heat and cold in different areas of the body, all at the same time) for 15 minutes. Finally, I also do epson salt, baking soda, and lavender oil bathtub soaks (I call it bathtub therapy) some days of the week, mainly alternating those that I don't do massage or massage chair. Nobody can say that managing a chronic illness its like having a full time job, right? Hope hat you feel better...

      1. this sounds amazing! Definitely like managing a full time job (or more!), but it's so great that your gym has all those options available to you. Do you do these every day? Thanks so much for sharing your experience here. It can be so helpful to hear from others about what's been working for them or what is a life changer! Sending you gentle hugs. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)
