Mattress/bed suggestions

I’m having SEVERE lower spine and hip pain; this past week I can’t even move in bed. It takes about 5 mins. I’m wondering if it’s because of the stress hormone kicking in overnight, which in turn sinks me into my medium firm memory foam mattress.

I’m considering a cooling extra firm adjustable mattress.

Any suggestions?

  1. stress makes it much worst, try relaxation videos on YouTube or music, whatever relaxes you. It doesn't eliminate pain but helps.

    1. thank you for your suggestion m, but I’m not having issues with getting to sleep due to pain. I am having pain difficulties during the night turning over and in the morning I can’t even roll out of bed. I have to get a new mattress because I am noticing I’m slightly sinking into it.

  2. Hi . Here is an article from one of our advocates with some mattress shopping advice: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living/mattress-better-sleep. I hope this helps and that a new mattress alleviates the pain. Keep us posted if you feel comfortable doing so. Wishing you the best! - Lori (Team Member)

    1. thank you!

  3. Hi, The best "medicine" I've ever had for spinal pain is CBD oil capsules. I take one capsule (2 part CBD to 1 part THC) about 1& 1/2 hours before bed every 3 days and it works incredible to help me sleep and numb spinal/back pain. It's natural and highly effective and you do not need a doctor for it. I've had RA for 24 years and have been on all the meds, but nothing works like CBD for back pain.
