Methotrexate Week 4

I started on Methotrexate 4 weeks ago and this week I am sincerely feeling better! 🙏
I am on the folic acid and finishing the prednisone this week that my rheumatologist used as a " kick start" to my new program.
Truthfully, I am more than grateful. 😃❤

  1. How awesome that methotrexate is helping, ! That is wonderful to hear. I hope you continue to see improvements over time. Wishing you the best! - Lori (Team Member)

    1. Thank you for your kind and supportive reply. ❤️
Some days I seem to be doing pretty well. Some days are difficult. I will get this figured out.
Having a great team of folks who are going through similar or have gone through days like me does give me hope that my rheumatologist and I will find something that works.

    2. Many thanks everyone.

  2. I just ran across your post and wanted to check in and see how you were feeling? I see you posted it a little over a month and a half ago. I was happy to read that the methotrexate you had been prescribed seemed to be working well for you. Just know you are in our thoughts here at rheumatoid arthritis.net. Reach out anytime, we are here for you. Just Keep Swimming...Lynn Marie, "RheumatoidArthritis.net Team Member"

    1. Thank you for asking!
My methotrexate does seem to be helping me a lot. The duh feelings I had 24 hours after my weekly dose seem to have lifted.
I am loosing hair but I'd rather wear a wig than be stuck in because of so much pain.
I had to skip my methotrexate because of coming down with 2 different nasty colds. I was grateful it was not two weeks in a row! I still could feel the difference in my hands, elbows and knees but far from going back to square one.
So far this protocol is working well for me.
      So Grateful,
      Julie

  3. Hi . Wish I had seen this when you first posted because I would have noted that the good news is that "Methotrexate can start working for rheumatoid arthritis within 3 to 6 weeks and symptoms continue to improve over 3 months" (see: https://www.drugs.com/medical-answers/long-methotrexate-work-3554038/). Hope the improvement has continued. Best, Richard (RheumatoidArthritis.net Team)
