Orencia?

Anyone also taking Orencia? I take the weekly auto-inject. I've been on it for about a year, and it seems to help.

I am also on Hydroxychoroquine, Lefludomide, and Tizanidine.

  1. Hi while you wait for others to share, these threads may be helpful: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/forums/orencia-feedback and https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/forums/orencia - Warmly, Reggie, team member

    1. thank you 😊

    2. thank you for reaching out. I took Orencia by injection years ago. It unfortunately did not feel any great relief or benefits from that particular medication. That being said I also did not experience any bad side effects or medication related issues.
I am so glad to hear that the Orencia is working well for you.

  2. I am not currently taking it but I'm about to start the injections. I'm nervous. I didn't have a good time with Enbrel or Humira injections, I had reactions to both. Is the Orencia painful? I am also on Hydroxychloroquine, my Dr just took me off the methotrexate, my liver hates it I guess.

    1. thank you for sharing. I am sorry to hear the negative side effects you experienced from Enbrel and Humira injections.
I did not personally experience pain when injecting Orencia. I have also been on both Enbrel and Humira also. However, others in our community might have had different experiences with the injection. Hopefully, some others will reach out regarding their experiences.
I have also been taken off several medications for the treatment of my RA. My liver doesn't always react well to them.
So glad that you go for your blood work and that your doctor monitors your blood while taking the different medications. It is so important!!!
I wish you the best in finding the right treatment for your RA. It can be a frustrating process. It took me trialing many, before I found one that offered some relief. Please reach out any time.
