Pain

hi all I was diagnosed with RA in may science than I'm on methatraxate, humira and Prednisone . Methatraxate didn't help alone thats why they add humira , prednisone it's helping but long term use leads to serious side effects .
I trying to stop Prednisone and taking half pill bit I see pain is coming back I think that none of humira or methatraxate is not working .
How you guys leave with it what's the solution to pain , few weeks back I could not walk it was so much pain .
Please help and share your experience

  1. Methotrexate takes up to about 12 weeks to start working, then u will hopefully start to feel improvements. It took me about six months to really start to feel better along with the prednis olone. I started with 20mg of prednisone and seven years later I still take 5mg daily, with an increase to 10mg if I am having a flare. I Changed to Leflunomide three years ago as I was tired of nausea from the methotrexate and I had leveled off and not going into remission .
Be patient it takes time and u will feel better soon.
Drink lots of fluids, rest, excessive and monitor your diet as what you eat can sometimes make the RH worse.
I hope you feel better soon!!!!

    1. It takes a long time to wean your body off prednisone. I have trying to go down from the 7mg I take to 5mga day for almost a year now. I have 1mb pills that I go up and down on as I try to get lower and lower, so feeling like garbage without your normal dose of steroids is pretty common. It can take months to permanently go down, so give yourself time. If there's anything we can do in the meantime, let us know. Keep on keepin' on, DPM
