What do you do when your pain is intolerable

Unable to get on top
Of pain do you give in and present to ED and what can they do anyway

  1. Hi, ! Apologies for not seeing your post sooner. I hope, by, now, your pain is at a manageable level.

Listen. You need to do what is right for you, but people with RA are some of the toughest folks I have ever met. If you are feeling like your pain is well beyond a "10" on the pain scale, then it's probably a good idea to do what you need to get some relief. If that's going to the ED, maybe do that. Sometimes, they can give you meds that at least give your body a breather so you can think straight, regroup, and come up with a game plan. Sometimes, it doesn't go that way, but you deserve a break in the pain, either way. Whether it's temporary or not, you deserve some relief. I wish I could suggest some surefire way to send the pain packing for good, but it seems to be trial-and-error for many people. The ED may be able to give you some strong pain meds and maybe prednisone, if that's an option you want to consider. Again, I don't know this for sure and they are not long term fixes, but living in excruciating pain doesn't sound tolerable, either.

I hope you are doing a bit better now.

    Gentle Hugs, Erin, Team Member.

    1. Thank you kindly for your words Erin
Iam not sure about taking steroids on top of the bio I am on I might contact my Specialist , but I know they help immensely as I am already on maximum Palexia IR as SR does not agree with the mind
Again Thankyou for taking time out of your day and journey makes a person feel a lot less alone with RA .

      1. , you know your body and your RA better than anyone else ever will, including me, so please take anything I write with a grain of salt. I should have considered that you are on other medications, so pardon that oversight on my part. Your specialist is definitely the best person to reach out to as far as your pain management options go. And again, I am hoping you can get on top of the pain!

        Best, Erin, team Member.

      2. Hi . Just to follow up on what both you and Erin were discussing, I want to share with you this article on pain management specialists: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living/pain-management-specialist. I'm not saying this is for you, but the information might be helpful for discussions with your doctor. Hoping you can get some relief soon. Best, Richard (Team Member)
