Pain relief

I have had an ulcer but it’s not active now. My RA doctor will no longer prescribe Tramadol and gave me gabapentin 200 mg at bedtime. As far as I can tell it doesn’t work. What can I talk to my doctor about for pain relief, ibuprofen isn’t a good choice do to a previous ulcer all I have is Tylenol and prednisone for severe pain?

  1. I'm so sorry you're dealing with pain that doesn't seem to be responding to gabapentin, . How long have you been taking gabapentin?

I would definitely keep talking to your doctor about this and if you have a gastroenterologist, maybe reach out to them to see if they have some helpful suggestions as to what you can take for the pain without aggravating your stomach lining.

I don't have any great suggestions off the top of my head, but I hope some of our community members might have some ideas you can try.

I hope you get some relief from the pain very soon!
