People my age look at me like I'm crazy

I have had people my age ask me why they don't see me out socializing and when I tell them its like oh!!! In my mind I'm thinking try a week in my shoes!! I am at the point where I dont even want to explain it to anyone anymore however I never know who I can help!!

  1. that is so tough. I know it has happened to me many times. I have taken a different tactic when people talk to me about socializing. I tell them the truth. The Martians descended on my house and stole me. I am a clone. I can make you one as well. Just saying. It will be easy to work out when they swing back by this way. LOL

You should see how quickly that stops the conversation. I have never been asked again after I say this to someone........................... rick

    1. lol thats a good one😅😅

  2. Hi You are definitely not alone here in getting the questions about socializing and I certainly appreciate your desire to inform, even when you don't feel like it, because it might benefit someone else. You didn't mention your age, but I'm guessing you are on the younger side and people therefore don't make the connection between your age and a condition like RA. We actually have several contributors here who were diagnosed as children and several others as young adults. If you are interested in articles from people currently dealing with similar issues you may want to look at writings from Monica (https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/community/experts/monica-y-sengupta) and David (https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/community/experts/david-advent). People here get it. Best, Richard (RheumatoidArthritis.net Team)

    1. hi im 39 and was very very social up until about 2 years ago when I started getting sick. Thanks for the info and you are absolutely right they love to say you are not old enough to have RA. I try to explain its no age limit for RA.🥰
