Hi, and welcome! I am glad you joined the community. Hoarseness with RA is not totally unusual and the article shared is a good place to start. Also, I wanted to share a snippet from on of our pieces on less common RA issues -- "RA-related joint involvement in other parts of the spine occurs infrequently. RA can, however, affect the joint of the larynx (called the cricoarytenoid joint), which is in the vicinity of the cervical spine. Cricoarytenoid involvement can result in vocal hoarseness."
So, hoarseness definitely can happen with RA, but it's important to get it checked out by your physician (if you haven't already done so), just to make sure something else isn't going on.
Here's an active link to the article dltld mentioned (hopefully, it's active. You know how technology can be 😉 ) -- https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living/a-hoarse-of-a-different-color
I hope this information is helpful for you, Joe, and !
